MICRONEF on Car-Show

Our belgium Fk-partner MICRONEF presented the entire Fk fleet on Car-Show in Brussels.

 

 

FK9 serial No. 300 delivered!

Thursday June 16th the FK9 serial number 300 has been overgiven to its new owner. Flight-school owner Werner Vlasselaer so far purchsed the second FK9 to be used in his flight school for training and rent.
Manufacturer B&F GmbH / FK-lightplanes is actually in progress to double the production-output rate which should cover especially the increased demand for the FK9 line.

Fk14 Polaris took 1st place in southafrican air race
at Brits Airfield

"The first competition was a Rally and Precision Flying where you fly to time between turn points, look for photographs on route, and spot landings. This competition was the first one and out of 26 aircraft we came second and Mike Cathro came first and the second competition was just a race around a 259 nautical mile track. The Polaris was given a 127.5 Knots handicap speed and this was our first win with her.

It really makes winning easy if you have the right plane!

Banner-tow test programm for Comet started

Since in summer 2005 the glider-tow test programm has been sucessfully
started there has also a banner-tow test programm been launched in end
2005! It is expected to receive certification for both categorys during
summer 2006.

Press-release - FK9 Mark IV SW „Shortwing" certified

The FK9 Mark IV is now also certified in the "shortwing" version. This clipped-wing FK9 spans 9,25m instead of the standard airframes 9,85m.

Beside a app. 4kg reduced empty weight (and so increased payload) the plane is performing slightly better now. Its less sensitive for turbulences and has reduced flair during landing.

The clipped wing has required an increase of angle of attack from wing against fuselage. Therefor it has been necessary to build a new fuselage mold- and toolset, which explains the slightly increased price of the shortwing version against standard type. On the other hand it has been possible in this moment to improve the forward visibility, which was an old critics on FK9 models.

First serial aircraft FK9 Mark IV fitted with the new Mercedes-smart-Roadster powerplant delivered!

End of April B&F / FK-lightplanes was able to deliver the first FK9 in the actual airframe type Mark IV in combination with the new Mercedes M160 Roadster engine system! The engine from the smart-Roadster car has in comparison with the former used smart M160–powerplant a significant improved power output over the whole range!
First flight tests showed better performances against the standard Rotax 912 powered FK9 in both climb and cruise conditions.! With only 4300 rpm a cruise of still more than 180 km/h is available with less than 10 ltr/hr fuel consumption!.
Cruise speeds of more than 200 km/hr are also no problem for the new automobile based powerplant of the manufacturer ECOFLY.
With its regulated turbocharger and the electric fuel injection the powerplant keeps its power output also in higher altitudes, giving there better performances also in comparison with higher-power-nominated carburator engines!
B&F is offering the smart-FK9 still within this year as a introduction price package-offer to support introduction of the new powerplant into the FK9 line.
